2024 New Year letter

December 2023

From HoPo Holding and its subsidiaries,

Every year has its difficulties and 2023 had its own for all of us.

There were a lot of positives for HoPo Danmark - a solid plan to diversify into a more profitable and stable industry, overall reduced costs, reduced credit risk, increased credit score, and other smaller improvements.

The new year will be exhilarating - with changes to HoPo Danmark's activities, services and, for the first time, private customers! More on that - later in a few months.

Now, as Anusha Atukorala has once said "A New Year has tiptoed in. Let’s go forward to meet it."

With best wishes for 2024,

Petar Keratsinov

HoPo Danmark's credit rating increases despite last major difficulty

October 2023

Despite the hardship and uncertainty created by the Danish government in the transport delivery sector that directly affected the majority of HoPo Danmark's income source, many measures have been taken to mitigate from future government interventions and diversify further the company's income sources. I'm glad to say the efforts have paid off and others have noticed.

From the company assessment credit agency Creditsafe has come out with the decision this month to lower HoPo Danmark's credit risk rating by 49% from their previous assessment on April 2023, from 4.096% to 2.091%, and improve the credit score by 10 points, from 26 to 36 points. I have provided a screenshot from a small part of the report but you can visit this link to Creditsafe and request the whole report on HoPo Danmark ApS for free.

Danish government gross intervention in the private sector

May 2023

Private-email-between-wolt-and-HoPo

This change was enshrouded in media blackout and no public government announcement. That is one of the reasons why I have decided to make a public post on the topic and post a private email sent to me from Wolt, not the Danish tax agency, as they should. The new amendment to the service agreement has also been uploaded.

Thank you, Mette.

Sadly, Skat under the current ruling political parties have once again hit against the foreign population in Denmark. Last year it was against the students with the closure of 87 programs with 3`900 students at university and academy programs in English. A mistake described by the newspaper Politiken as The prognosis of a shortage of intelligence workers in 2030 is an accident happening in slow motion.

This year on 1st of June it is the foreign workers' turn. From Skat have come with the decision themselves out of the blue without any public discussion or with the business sector to ban Wolt from delivering with subcontractors, vast majority of which are foreigners. As far as I know, they have informed Wolt at least a little before 1st of May and have instructed them to inform us, the subcontractors just 29 days before the new changes take effect. This short notice is not enough for HoPo Danmark to organize a smooth transition. But there are options.

HoPo Danmark second contract

January 2023

I want to say with great pleasure that earlier this January HoPo Danmark could finally begin generating good and stable revenue. Thanks to our unlimited contract with Wolt.

As written in an earlier article, in November 2022, monthly revenues from Mover will be 10% and 85% from Wolt. It will take some time but March is expected to be the 1st fully productive and exemplary month which will show the potential of this company in these partnerships.

But I wanted to say something in this op-ed about the 2-and-a-half month ridiculous unnecessary delay.

Apparently, the so-called Anti-Money Laundry Act has broken the bank system in the Danish country. It is a well-known fact among all entrepreneurs and anybody related to the banking sector that new companies CAN NOT open a business bank account even remotely easily. So entrepreneurs despite being strapped for cash need to seek paid help from advisors, spend weeks not working but waiting, giving explanations, and preparing some random documents for banks to just be rejected. That is the reality and the experience of an absurd majority of startups including HoPo Danmark ApS in doing business in Denmark. In the end, I had to say enough and look abroad for help to solve an issue that should not exist and does not exist in any other EU country.

Thank you, Mette.

On the 2nd of November, just a week after HoPo Danmark ApS had all its documents in order, it started its work delivering for Mover Systems ApS. Deliveries will be done mainly in and around the Greater Copenhagen area but there will be other longer journeys within the island of Zealand. Our work as a subcontractor is without an end date, so we will gladly serve folks in those areas for many years to come.

Despite the fast progress revenues from Mover will be small and will not exceed 10% of the company's total yearly revenues. However, It will be well enough to make the company profitable and will be used in the future for further expansion with Mover and other exciting companies.
